Reid Lifting Porta Davit Quantum: Unrivalled Portable Lifting Power (600 kg, 1200 mm Radius)
Revolutionize your lifting operations with the Reid Lifting Porta Davit Quantum, engineered for superior performance, portability, and safety. This advanced davit crane, with a robust 600 kg (1320 lbs) goods working load limit (WLL) and an impressive 1200 mm (47 inch) maximum radius, sets a new standard for versatile and efficient material handling and personnel safety in demanding environments.
Key Benefits & Advantages:
- Exceptional Portability & Lightweight Design: Weighing from just 18.5 kg (for the stropped version), the Porta Davit Quantum is incredibly light, allowing for easy manual handling and transportation by a single person. Its compact, foldable design and integrated carry handle make it ideal for remote or difficult-to-access locations.
- Rapid, Tool-Free Assembly: Designed for maximum efficiency, the Porta Davit Quantum can be assembled in minutes with just one pin (two for winched versions), eliminating the need for complex tools or specialized equipment. This rapid deployment capability is crucial for time-sensitive operations.
- High Lifting Capacity & Versatility: Despite its lightweight nature, this davit crane boasts a substantial 600 kg WLL for goods and up to 300 kg for personnel (as part of an EN363 compliant system). It offers dual functionality, serving as both a material lifting device and a certified fall arrest anchor point for up to one person (EN795:2012 certified).
- 360° Rotation Under Full Load: Featuring an innovative bearing design and universal kingpin, the Porta Davit Quantum provides effortless 360° rotation even when under its maximum load. This allows for precise positioning and enhanced operational flexibility.
- Adjustable Radius for Optimal Reach: With multiple radius adjustment points (typically 900mm-1200mm or 1200mm-1500mm depending on the model), the davit can be optimized for various site configurations and lifting requirements, including offset lifts and access to deep shafts.
- Corrosion Resistance & Durability: Constructed from high-grade anodized aluminum (6082 T6 Aluminium alloy), the Porta Davit Quantum offers exceptional corrosion resistance, making it suitable for use in harsh and demanding environments, including marine and offshore applications.
- ATEX Certified (Zone 2 standard, Zone 1 optional): This certification ensures safe operation in potentially explosive atmospheres, expanding its utility in hazardous industrial settings.
- Universal Socket Compatibility: Designed with a universal kingpin (65mm diameter), the Porta Davit Quantum is compatible with Reid Lifting's extensive range of sockets (top mount, side mount, bridge mount, cast & resin bonded) and portable counterbalance bases (e.g., PORTABASE), offering flexible installation options.
- Overload Indicator: An integral overload indicator provides a clear visual warning if the davit has been subjected to excessive load, enhancing safety and preventing structural damage.
- No Welding in Construction: The absence of welding in the davit's construction eliminates the potential for weld fatigue, contributing to a longer lifespan and predictable, benign failure in the event of an overload.
Industries & Critical Applications:
The Reid Lifting Porta Davit Quantum 600 kg, 1200 mm Radius is an indispensable tool across a wide array of industries, particularly where portability, rapid deployment, and high safety standards are paramount.
- Confined Space Entry & Rescue:
- Critical Application: Lifting and lowering personnel and equipment into and out of confined spaces such as manholes, tanks, silos, vaults, and utility shafts. Its lightweight design and quick assembly are crucial for emergency rescue operations.
- Water & Wastewater Management:
- Critical Application: Installation, maintenance, and retrieval of submersible pumps, valves, and other equipment in pumping stations, water treatment plants, and sewer systems. The corrosion-resistant finish is ideal for wet environments.
- Oil & Gas (Onshore & Offshore):
- Critical Application: Lifting tools, equipment, and personnel in hazardous or remote locations, including offshore platforms, refineries, and drilling sites. ATEX certification is vital for explosive atmospheres.
- Utilities & Telecommunications:
- Critical Application: Accessing underground chambers, cable vaults, and overhead equipment for maintenance, repair, and installation tasks. The 1200 mm radius is beneficial for reaching over obstacles.
- Construction & Civil Engineering:
- Critical Application: Lifting building materials, tools, and smaller machinery on construction sites, especially in areas with limited space or difficult access.
- Marine & Offshore:
- Critical Application: Handling equipment on vessels, docks, and marine infrastructure, benefiting from its corrosion-resistant aluminium construction.
- Manufacturing & Industrial Facilities:
- Critical Application: Maintenance of machinery, particularly in areas where overhead cranes are impractical or unavailable.
- Clean Room & Pharmaceutical:
- Critical Application: Its clean, anodised finish allows for easy cleaning and sterilization, making it suitable for environments requiring strict hygiene protocols.
- Fall Protection & Rope Access:
- Critical Application: Providing a secure anchor point for fall arrest systems and supporting rope access operations for inspection and maintenance at height.
